Oregon Historical Society Research LibraryMinute book for Burnt River Lodge No. 86, a chapter of the fraternal organization Independent Order of Odd Fellows (I.O.O.F). The chapter, based in Huntington, Oregon, was founded in 1886. The minutes cover meetings from July 1899 to November 1910. This collection also includes an 1899 certificate from Silver Lodge No. 21, based in Silverton, Oregon.

The store was founded in 1912 by brothers Julius Zell (1895-1976) and Harry Zell (1893-1983). The firm remained in business until December 2009.

Marie Namba letter to June Clark about incarceration at Portland Assembly Center, 1942 May 13
Oregon Historical Society Research LibraryHandwritten letter from Marie Namba (later Marie Asai, 1923-2012) to a former teacher, June Clark (later June Burke, 1917-2018). Namba wrote the letter while incarcerated at the Portland Assembly Center, a detention camp that was established by the U.S. government at the site of the Portland International Livestock Exposition in Portland, Oregon, in the spring of 1942. The government detained Japanese American residents of Oregon at the center before transferring them to long-term incarceration camps. Namba's letter, dated May 13, 1942, discusses the process by which her family had been compelled to report for incarceration a few days earlier, and describes conditions at the Portland Assembly Center.

Ivard Ritchie Rogers photograph collection, circa 1940-1980s
University of Utah Libraries, Special CollectionsIvard Ritchie Rogers (1915-1988) served in World War II and was an outdoorsman and river runner. He worked for the Utah Bureau of Investigation, including 20 years service as director. This collection includes black-and-white and color slides depicting Rogers' military service and images of his friends and family. Also included are photos of Southern Utah and Utah national parks, river running, and the Green, Colorado, and Yampa rivers.
